Summer Slam is an annual end of the year event for IUPUI Housing & Residence Life and the Apartments Hall Council celebrating the community of the residents in the Campus Apartments.

This event is open to all IUPUI students and their guests and is completely free. This event is a Housing tradition and is highly anticipated after last year's success. Residents say it is the best program of the year, and is not one to miss.

This year's Summer Slam has grown to a two-day event. Friday, April 25 from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. the block party will be taking place at the IUPUI Campus Apartments on the Riverwalk.

This year's activities will include a professional DJ, inflatable obstacle courses, a dunk tank, a sumo wrestling challenge, velcro wall, volleyball, and dunk-an-RA.

Free food and drinks will be provided, and the first 100 students in attendance will receive a free Summer Slam t-shirt. Giveaways will be happening throughout the night.

Saturday, April 26 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. the Apartments Hall Council is sponsoring a booth at the IUPUI Garage Sale on behalf of the on-campus residents. Donations will be accepted April 25 for the Garage sale on April 26.

All proceeds will go to the Christamore House, and all leftover donations will be given to area charities. This is the perfect opportunity to give back to the community and do some spring cleaning.

An updated list of events and giveaways can be seen at the IUPUI Summer Slam event page on Facebook. Further information can be obtained by calling the IUPUI Housing & Residence Life office (274-7459) or by contacting RA Kaitlynn Chesak (kchesak@iupui.edu).
