Hundreds of students, young voters and residents gathered in the Columbus East High School gymnasium to be a part of Senator Barack Obama's "Road to Change" town hall meeting April 11. The rate of auto larcenies is on the rise around the Indianapolis area and IUPUI's campus is no exception. Between Jan. 1, and the beginning of March, police reported 47 vehicle break-ins around campus. In the same time frame last year, there were 10. The grand opening of the Campus Center April 9 was accompanied by the sounds of the Mobile Millennium Carillon. The Mobile Millennium Carillon is essentially an expansive bell tower that has been modified to fit on a semitrailer. The carillon that played at the campus center is controlled through a keyboard that is similar to a classical organ. (0) comments
