Rainy conditions in Bloomington washed out the final round of last weekend's Hoosier Golf Invitational. The IUPUI men's team ended the weekend tied for 12th at 608 after Sunday's round was halted after three holes.
After frost pushed back tee time by an hour on Saturday, the Jaguars were able to count four scores in the opening round and turned in a score of 308. Rookie golfer Michael Powell failed to finish the first round due to neck pain but came back to finish round two.
The Jaguars turned in a score of 300 in round two, leaving them tied for 12 of 18. With the Jaguars strongest finish, freshman Ben Engle shot 147 for the event, tied at 12th. Eastern Kentucky won the 36-hole event with a score of 582. Miami of Ohio came in second with a score of 584.
Last week the men's team finished fourth out of ten teams at Butler's Spring Invitational. This weekend they continue play in the Beu Mussato Invitational hosted by Western Illinois. The event will be held the Harry Mussato Golf Course, site of this year's Summit League Tournament in April.
