Students, family, faculty, staff and alumni gathered Friday evening at the Westin Hotel in downtown Indianapolis to honor the Top 100 most outstanding students at IUPUI.

The IUPUI Alumni Council and the Student Organization for Alumni Relations hosted the recognition program.

The evening's events included welcome speeches from current and past IUPUI Alumni Council presidents, a greeting from Chancellor Charles R. Bantz, and a keynote speech from IUPUI alumnus Todd A. Schmidt.

Shortly thereafter, guests enjoyed dinner while the Top 100 students were presented. The top 10 male and top 10 female students were individually recognized for their achievements.

This year's top male student was Christopher Hardin; the Top female student was Rachel Meyer.

Nominees were carefully chosen by a panel of faculty, staff and alumni based on strong academic achievement, collegiate and co-curricular activities, as well as civic and community service.

One letter of recommendation and a completed application were also required.
