Swim and Dive teams wear pink as they face Eastern Illinois U.

Over the weekend both men and women's swimming and diving teams faced off against Eastern Illinois University; both teams wearing pink to help raise awareness about Breast Cancer Research. The men's team fell 160-139, while the women's team lost 165.5-127.5.
Even though victory was out of reach for both teams, the men had 23 medal finishes; eight were first-place. The women also finished with 8 first place, and had 17 medal finishes overall.
Steven Bretscher had a great start, finishing the meet with a career best time of 10:23:71 in the 1000 freestyle, while Tyler McGowan and others kept the momentum going with season best times. McGowan swam a 1:47.08 season high in the 200 freestyle. Sara Smith swam a 2:13.22 season high in the 200 butterfly on the women's team.
The men will begin conditioning for The Summit League Championships against Oakland University Feb 21. The woman will host Butler University February 6th and then begin preparations for The Summit League Championships, which run Feb. 21 to Feb. 23
