New student job opportunities abound

Student employment opportunity is everywhere in the new Campus Center at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis.

Within the first year of the Campus Center's opening, there will be a total of new Campus Center and according to Maxwell, the Campus Center will hire an additional 25 students.

In addition to the students that have been hired as Campus Center employees, there will be more students hired by Campus Center vendors.

According to Maxwell, Chartwells dining services will hire an additional 50 to 70 students to staff its various dining operations.

The new Barnes & Noble and Jags Bookstore will also be hiring another 50 students to staff the new bookstore.

"Student employment on campus is a good thing," Maxwell says. "It provides students with an opportunity to stay on campus during the day and or between classes. Historically, students have played a key role in Campus Centers in many positions."

Applying for student employment is easy -you simply need to be a student seeking employment.

"I am excited that we recently hired 50 students," Maxwell says.



Student Staff Groups



Game Crew: Manage and supervise the TV Lounge and Game Room

Information Desk: Provide information on Campus Center events and activities and other campus-wide programs

Set-up Crew: Ensure that meeting rooms are set up according to client requests

Building Managers: Assist in keeping the Campus Center operating smoothly
