IUPUI's Student Services will be moving to a new home in the newly erected Campus Center in early December. But don't let the, new, modern building fool you - the offices will provide all the same services that students have come to rely upon.
Under the umbrella of Student Services lies Enrollment and Auxiliary Services, Indiana Members Credit Union, Campus Card and USPS Contact Services.
Moving all those services into the Campus Center makes it easier for students to get most of the services they need taken care of in one stop, without walking back and forth across campus.
Enrollment Services, which was located on the first floor of Cavanaugh Hall, has moved to the second floor of the Campus Center and is housed in the glass cube. Enrollment Services includes the Admissions Center, Campus Visit Office, Office of the Registrar and Student Financial Services.
"The location of the offices should provide students with easy access to complete any business they have with the offices," Rebecca E. Porter, Executive Director of Enrollment Services and Associate Vice Chancellor for Student Services, says.
The Admissions Center will have counseling rooms with spectacular views so that the university can show off the campus when meeting with perspective students. After the meeting, students can submit their application to the Admissions Center.
The Campus Visit Office also will be located in this area to make it convenient for IUPUI campus tours to originate from the Campus Center - the center of campus.
The Office of the Registrar and Student Financial Services will now share a lobby on the main corridor of the Campus Center's second floor. These two entities were strategically placed near each other to cut down on the number of places students have to visit to have questions answered.
Service counters within the Office of the Registrar and Student Financial Services have been designed so that students can sit down during their transactions and have more privacy for their conversations. Computers also will be available for students to complete self-service functions.
