As the two are preparing for their "happily ever after," Fiona's father, who is King Harold, dies. With the death of the King comes the craziest adventure of all-the rude, unhygienic ogre named Shrek is grudgingly being fitted for the royal crown to take over as King of Far Far Away.
As if ruling the land of Far Far Away doesn't seem like enough excitement for Fiona and Shrek, they are in for another surprise-Fiona is pregnant. With a baby ogre on the way, Shrek decides to seek out Fiona's cousin Artie, who is the one true-blood heir to the throne.
With the help of his unforgettable sidekicks Donkey and Puss in Boots, Shrek searches for the medieval high school freeloader and bring him back to Far Far Away to rule the kingdom. While Shrek is out seeking Artie, the handsome Prince Charming sneaks into the castle with Captain Hook and tries to seize control of the throne.
As Shrek, Boots, and Donkey try their best to get Artie back to the castle, Fiona has to gather a group to fight for the palace. Fiona gathers fighting princesses, including Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel and Cinderella to barricade the castle and fight off Prince Charming's slew of villains until Shrek returns to save the day.
This movie is just as awesome as the first two. Children of all ages enjoy the fast-paced story, the hilarious characters, and the witty jokes that are impossible to miss. With some hard life lessons, hysterical plays on words, and characters that are to die for, Shrek the Third entertains audiences young and old.
