I would like to thank each and every one of our readers for obtaining a copy of this past week's Sagamore. The word on our campus is that the paper didn't have enough substance, or anything that pertained to the interest of students here.
Let me say on the behalf of the staff of the Sagamore & JagRadio, we have heard your cries for information that is intriguing, exciting and enriching; and that affects the students as well as the faculty of this great university.
Currently they're a number of components that are coming together to insure that you are able to access any of our topics in regards of local, national, and entertainment news; if you're out of town or just not able to get down to the campus you will be able to access the latest IUPUI news in a variety of ways. The official IUPUI media web site will be up and running within the next few weeks (be on the look out), which will include the Sagamore online print and IUPUI's JagRadio.
In last week's edition of the Sagamore, one of this semester's most sought after pieces featured stories about the Jena 6, increased parking, and on-campus thief, all of which seemed to be articles of interest for (you) our readers.
The introduction of the commentary section in last week's paper seems to have given the Sagamore a voice of the readers (faculty, students, and staff). From my encounters with people that read the Jena 6 article, there were a good number of individuals that hadn't a clue of what it was about, also there was a feeling of compassion for those that were involved in the whole Jena mishap.
Last Wednesday, in The New York, Reed Walters made a futile attempt in defending his stance in prosecuting the black teens for second degree attempted murder involving in the Jena 6. Well ladies and gentlemen all of the students are free because of the efforts of those who supported the protest, white and black alike, despite what Reed Walters had to say.
Thanks for everyone's responses and participation in this whole ordeal. Aww, and does parkings on campus seem to have gotten better since the last edition?
We greatly appreciate any and all comments from our readers. Please send all comments, questions, or letters to the editor to the Sagamore @ www.sagamore@iupui.edu.
