An ISM special investigation shows that things may not be as clear as they might seem.
Every IUPUI student must pay fees, but few students are aware of how the funds are actually allocated and used by various campus units. To shed some light on this financial mystery, IUPUI Student Media reporters investigated different funded units and the processes behind where the money goes.
Kevin Walsh, fiscal officer for Academic Affairs and Student Life, said while each funded unit under this fee creates quarterly or monthly financial reports, no single person or department keeps records of how all units use their funds.…
